North Texas-based musician and writer LANE OLIVER (Diminishing, ex-Yatsu) has unveiled his new solo effort, and with that, the project’s first audio, with “I Spoke of You in the Past Tense,” now playing everywhere.

Recorded in a single session back in March, “I Spoke Of You In The Past Tense” sees LANE OLIVER utilizing multiple layers of guitars, effects, and field recordings to construct a sprawling soundscape that is as ethereal as it is pummeling. The eighteen-minute composition draws the listener in with melancholic, slowcore riffs reminiscent of early Red House Painters, before erupting into an all-consuming wall of harsh noise-laden post-rock. The vibrant vortex of sound was mixed and mastered by Scott Miller at Ancient Temple Recordings and completed with artwork by Eeli Helin (Fawn Limbs, Nadja, Ba’al). Fans of A-Sun Amissa, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Nadja, Black Boned Angel, and Kleistwahr should take note.

LANE OLIVER’s “I Spoke Of You In The Past Tense” is now playing everywhere including Bandcamp HERE and all other digital points HERE.

“I Spoke Of You In The Past Tense” is the second release from OLIVER this year behind The Outcome EP by Diminishing, his harsh post-industrial project with Gridfailure’s David Brenner, which was released back in May via Anti-Corp Music. New solo material from OLIVER and Diminishing’s second full-length are currently being prepared for future release.
