Megadeth at the Fillmore in Denver, on their Gigantour.Tuesday nights show was scheduled to have Megadeth along with Motörhead, Volbeat and Lacuna Coil. However, the lead singer of Motörhead had lost his voice and had to call off his performance for the night. The show went on with the other bands graciously filling in the time that Motorhead was allotted to play. The lighting at the venue by itself is very good. A few more were added to make it great. First up was Lacuna Coil from Italy, bringing on a stellar opening to the show. Followed by Volbeat playing their Radio hit "A Warriors Call" and a Johnny Cash tribute, which was a real crowd pleaser. After that was Megadeth playing a mix of new stuff and old stuff. Just some good ol' fashion metal all around I'd say. They also played a little Motörhead since that band was not able to perform. Also another crowd pleaser. And to make things better, a duet between Dave Mustaine and Cristina Scabbia, the lead singer of Lacuna Coil. At one point in the show, Dave Mustaine showed some dissatisfaction in one of the security members for being a little rough with one of the crowd surfers. Threatening to walk off the stage but continued the performance after the situation was resolved. At the end, Mustaine presented his "axe" to a lucky 106.7 KBPI winner. He let the fans know his appreciation of them and Denver let him know how much they love a Metal original like Megadeth. ~Joseph Magome |
