2nd Annual Drop Dead Gore-geous Fashion Show Event Review:

2nd Annual Drop Dead Gore-geous Fashion Show
To benefit the Turning Point center for youth and family development
A Fashion, Music & Art Event.

On May 20th as we neared the doors of Onehundred Octane, a popular bar nestled right in the square of old town Fort Collins, the walkway was very busy and alive. The thing that set this day apart from any other day was just this, the walkways were alive, crawling with the undead. Beautiful and gruesome zombies of all shapes and sizes were walking around the square, some fixing their hair, some chatting with their friends and families, but every rotting one of them there to support one cause. The Annual Drop Dead Gore-geous Fashion Show is a creepy, crawly and cool benefit for Fort Collins Turning Point Center for youth and family development. Models and designers, photographers and FX artists, stylists and bands from all over northern Colorado come together to create the most uncommon but awesome fashion show that benefits the future of our nation, the youth.

Walking down the stairs into the bar, the setting was incredible. Onehundred Octane had been turned into a fantastic runway and FX studio, with everything from living bar patrons, to a zombie caricature artist stand where you could get your face drawn up, falling flesh and all. The mood was light despite all the dead, the whole crowd inside the building and out along the square obviously excited to see what kind of dramatic creature would walk by next. The fashion walk itself went off without a hitch, each girl or guy dragging themselves along the crowded catwalk of death, and up the stairs of doom to pose deathly for the ever growing mob of onlookers. Such an unforgettable evening this turned out to be for all, be it volunteer, sponsor or visitor, and I for one, cannot wait for the 3rd Annual Drop Dead Gore-geous Fashion Show to roll back around.

See you ghouls next year,
